This will be my first vent! That is why I called this blog the daily spleen, so I can vent my spleen about things that bug me! I grew up in a world where you went to work and you did not need to worry that they would lay you off tomorrow or the next day. Our parents got jobs and could usually count on being at them for years. Now if you have a job, you check everyday when you get to work to see if you have been pink slipped! We live in a country that is not the strong manufacturing nation it once was. Our economy has come to be dominated by banking and the service industries. While these industries are indeed important, you can't maintain a strong economy with good employment prospects this way. Wouldn't most Americans pay a little extra for products produced in the U.S.? I think they would, especially if the manufacturers would make a commitment to keeping those jobs in America? What do you think??
